Edinburgh Festival Fringe · Aug 7–31.
3,000+ shows. 25 days. 250+ venues. The world's most extreme cultural discovery problem — and the cleanest test for the recommendation, memory, and word-of-mouth layer.
Each scene is a place, time, and mood inside the world.
Underbelly · Bristo Square + Cowgate
One of the five major venue operators. Comedy heavyweights, the Udderbelly purple cow venue, Bristo Square food + bar. BrewDog/Tilray confirmed supply partner.
Pleasance · Courtyard + Dome
Major venue operator. Stand-up comedy + sketch + theatre. Industry-facing pre-screenings.
Assembly · George Square + Roxy
Major venue operator. Music, comedy, cabaret, dance. George Square Gardens beer garden.
Summerhall · the experimental venue
The Fringe's experimental + international theatre venue. The Fringe First award nominees often live here.
Edinburgh International Festival · the high-culture layer
EIF runs Aug 7–30 in parallel. Classical, opera, dance, large-scale theatre. Corporate-partnership programming via The Macallan-style cultural sponsorship.
Royal Mile · the flyer economy + street performance
Where shows are discovered. Performers flyering, street acts, the moments tourists actually decide what to see tonight.
Afterlife · the venue brief + the show that goes to West End
Mid-September. Each venue operator gets a brief: which shows produced strongest word-of-mouth, which audience clusters formed, which performers should be invited back. The shows that go to West End / Off-Broadway are identified here.
2 kits plug into this world. Each is a sponsor + ritual + memory + commerce template.
All kits live at /builder/ritual-kits. Activation + sponsor resonance + cohort overlap show up at /worlds/edinburgh-fringe-2026/affinity.
There are roughly 3,000 shows on the Fringe in 25 days. An attendee sees 5–15 if they're paying attention. The decision of which show to see tonight is the entire product problem of Trovii reduced to its essence: too much culture, fragmented attention, word-of-mouth as primary signal, the recommendation engine that says 'people who saved THAT also saved THIS' is the differentiator.
The Fringe Society does not curate. The venues do. Underbelly + Pleasance + Assembly + Gilded Balloon + Summerhall together host the majority of the ticketed traffic. The accessible pitch is to venue operators. The Fringe Society is the umbrella; the venues are the customers.
Every Vivere world is built from real source material. The committee, the archive, the program, the venue — each fragment traceable.
